La Gioconda **

A classic! Dahlia La Gioconda has been part of our product range for generations. It goes so far back that it was even grown by grower Hubert’s grandfather! The flower is named after Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting, the Mona Lisa, which is known as La Gioconda in Italy. As the heart, containing pollen and nectar, can easily be reached by insects, La Gioconda is a suitable choice for gardeners who want to attract bees and butterflies. This dahlia is what is referred to as a ‘collerette’ or collar dahlia. Collerette dahlias have single petals, and bear a collar of smaller petals around their heart. Hence the name, collerette (small collar). With its red petals and yellow heart, La Gioconda is a sunny addition to every border.

Unfortunately, we no longer grow this dahlia variety and therefore it will not come back in stock.
